I’m Stephanie Louise. Born in South Korea, I call the PNW home, where I live with my amazing boyfriend and two lovable cats. With Love, Stephanie is my portfolio and digital diary, where I share my love for photography as I travel and touch on social justice issues, conservation, food, home decor, and life.
My journey into digital storytelling began on social media and has evolved over the years into a blend of creativity and advocacy. Since starting my career in social services in 2018, I’ve been driven to raise awareness about social issues from around the world and amplifying unheard voices. Recently, I’ve started learning about and exploring videography and photojournalism. This passion has inspired me to dream up both short- and long-term projects, combining my love for photography with my commitment to justice and equality. While learning more about photojournalism, I’ll be using this platform to blog stories that provide context and depth to my projects. From visual storytelling to written narratives, this is where I bring my ideas to life, document compelling stories, and share perspectives that inspire conversation and connection. Though it’s been a slow process to take the leap to bring these things together, every step has been meaningful.
Since I was a child, I have always wanted to help people and create in the world. I have dreamed of traveling the world, documenting life’s raw and unfiltered moments—love, loss, resilience, and triumph. Photography is more than just a passion for me; it is a powerful tool for change, a way to tell stories that can move hearts and open minds. But this dream is not just for me. Growing up, I didn’t see a lot of photographers who looked like me or while traveling. I want young BIPOC girls who share this dream to know that their visions are valid, that their voices matter, and that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Representation is powerful, and I hope my journey can serve as proof that they, too, can break barriers, create art, and make an impact.
Life has taught me to savor the little moments. I cherish quality time with loved ones, hosting gatherings, experimenting with new recipes, diving into a good book with indie music in the background, and attending workout classes. I’m a creative spirit with a deep curiosity for new destinations, yet I find equal joy in the cozy comforts of home.
